Former primary school teacher, governess, and passionate advocate for children's literacy. Here's a little bit about where I've come from — and why books are at the heart of everything I do.

My career started in primary school classrooms, where I quickly learned that getting the right book into the right child's hands at the right moment can change everything. After teaching, I spent 12 years as a governess and private educator — working one-to-one with families across the UK and internationally. That experience gave me a real understanding of how children develop as readers, and it shapes every recommendation and event I run today.
Honestly? I had no idea this opportunity existed. When I came across the Usborne partnership in 2023, I wasn't looking for it — but as soon as I found it, I knew it was for me. It's a way to use 15+ years of education experience at real scale: helping hundreds of schools and reaching thousands of families.
Giving back has always been important to me — I've volunteered with the NSPCC and spent time teaching in some of the most under-resourced communities abroad, where access to books was almost non-existent. So discovering that every Usborne event actively unlocks free books for school libraries meant a great deal. For the first time, doing business and doing good are genuinely the same thing.
Building a team is one of the most unexpected joys of this role. I mentor a growing group of Usborne partners — people who, like me, have no idea this kind of opportunity exists until someone shows them it's possible. Some have never run a business before. Some want flexibility around their families. Others just want to do something that feels meaningful. What they all share is that it starts with one small step — a conversation, a question, a moment of curiosity.
If any of this sounds familiar, I'd love to talk. No pressure — just a real conversation.
Interested in building your own Usborne business? I'd love to tell you more about what that journey looks like.
